Community Guidelines
Creating a safe, respectful, trust-driven, global mountain community.
MYMCO exists to help climbers, mountaineers, hikers, and outdoor lovers find compatible partners and build meaningful connections. To keep our community safe and enjoyable for everyone, these Community Guidelines set out the standards of behavior that all users must follow, both on and off the platform.
By using MYMCO, you agree to follow these rules.
Violations may result in warnings, content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the platform.
1. Zero Tolerance for Harmful Behavior
1.1. We have zero tolerance for:
Abusive or aggressive behavior
Harassment, threats, bullying, or intimidation
Discrimination, racism, sexism, or hate speech
Violence, violent imagery, or encouraging harm
Any form of sexual harassment
Illegal behavior or illegal content
1.2. If you engage in harmful or abusive behaviour, your account may be permanently removed.
2. Be Respectful & Genuine
2.1. MYMCO is built on trust. Treat other users the way you’d treat teammates in the mountains:
Do:
Communicate respectfully
Be honest about your skills, experience, and limitations
Use your real identity, photos, and information
Share accurate climbing/mountaineering experience
Respect boundaries and take “no” for an answer
Do NOT:
Lie about your experience level or qualifications
Pressure others into trips or meet-ups
Engage in manipulative or deceptive behavior
Impersonate someone else
2.2. Honesty and respect create safer partnerships in the mountains.
3. No Objectionable Content
3.1. The following content is not allowed anywhere on MYMCO:
Hate speech, harassment, or abusive language
Pornographic, sexual, or sexually suggestive content
Graphic violence or gore
Depictions or encouragement of dangerous acts without context
Defamatory or knowingly false statements
Content that encourages self-harm or unsafe behavior
Content that promotes terrorism or extremist ideologies
Content showing another person without their consent
Posting someone’s personal information (doxxing)
3.2. Objectionable content will be removed, and the user may be banned.
4. No Fraud, Scams, or Deception
4.1. You may not use MYMCO to:
Scam or trick users
Solicit money or donations
Sell or advertise products or services
Engage in pyramid schemes or fraudulent behavior
Recruit users for non-outdoor-related activities
4.2. We take fraud and deceptive practices extremely seriously.
5. Outdoor & Safety Responsibilities
5.1. Outdoor activities involve risk. Users must:
Accurately represent their abilities and limitations
Match with partners whose skills align with the trip
Take personal responsibility for planning, preparation, and safety
Make responsible decisions based on weather, conditions, and fitness
Never pressure others to push beyond their comfort zone
5.2. MYMCO does not verify experience levels, certifications, or backgrounds. You are responsible for evaluating your partners and managing your own safety.
6. Respect Privacy & Personal Boundaries
6.1. You may not:
Post or request someone else’s private information
Share screenshots of chats or profiles without consent
Stalk, follow, or monitor users outside the app
Pressure someone for personal contact information
6.2. Everything you share on MYMCO should be done with care and respect.
7. Keep Communication Appropriate
7.1. Unwanted messages, spam, or inappropriate communication will not be tolerated.
7.2. Do NOT send:
Sexual or suggestive messages
Unsolicited photos (especially of intimate nature)
Repetitive or unwanted messages
Insults, threats, or degrading comments
Spam or promotional messages
7.3. If someone behaves inappropriately: block and report them.
8. Block and Report Tools
8.1. If you encounter harmful behaviour, you should:
Block the user
Report the content or behaviour through the in-app tools
Optionally email: help@mymcoapp.com
8.2. We review all reports within 24 hours and take appropriate action, which may include content removal or account termination.
9. Age Requirements
9.1. You must be at least 13 years old to use MYMCO
9.2. You must be 16 years or older to participate in real-life meet-ups and mountain activities arranged through the platform.
10. Off-Platform Behavior
10.1. Harmful or dangerous behavior that occurs outside the app, such as during meetups, may still lead to account suspension or removal if reported to us and verified.
10.2. Our community standards apply both on-platform and in real-world interactions.
11. Violations & Enforcement
11.1. Breaking these guidelines may result in:
Content removal
Temporary suspension
Permanent account removal
Reporting to law enforcement (in severe cases)
11.2. We apply enforcement consistently and fairly to protect our community.
12. Help Keep MYMCO Safe
12.1. We are all part of building the mountain community we want to see.
12.2. You can help by:
Reporting harmful content
Blocking abusive users
Using honest, respectful communication
Being transparent about your abilities and experience
